When Packing, it is important to consider the weather and locations you are visiting. I recommend taking a pair of comfortable shoes that you can walk miles and miles in and a pair that goes with professional attire. In my opinion, it is better to overpack. For this trip, I purchased a 30-inch suitcase. I made sure to leave room for any souvenirs that I may want to bring back.
I knew I would want to visit the beach on my trip, so I made sure to bring a beach bag and a beach towel as they were things I already owned and had the space in my suitcase. If you know the location you are staying in might have a chance of rain while you are there, be prepared with a small umbrella or a light rain jacket. Take an extra pair of clothes with you in case your luggage gets delayed. Keep any over-the-counter and prescription medication with you at all times. Keep a toothbrush and any other toiletries on hand, as you may need them. Remember to never take aerosols with you on the plane (I forgot about this and had to leave the aerosol sunscreen bottle above at home), and NEVER put your laptop or any other big electronics in your checked bags, as it can lead to damage. Make sure to research your host country! You may not be able to buy certain things that are readily available in the U.S., like over-the-counter medication such as Aleve. Lastly, do not overthink it too much! Most things you may forget will be available for purchase in your host country.
